Angelika
Mikk
is an Estonian singer and actress.
She
graduated as Master of Arts from the Estonian Academy of Music in
2004 having studied with docent Nadia Kurem. She has improved her
skills under the guidance of several well-known singing pedagogues:
Ileana Cotrubas (Romania), Judith Beckmann (USA), Paolo De Napoli
(Italy), Eva Märtson (Germany) and Professor Hartmut Höll’s Lied
master class in Tallinn.
In
2004 Angelika Mikk took part in the X
Julián Gayarre Singing Contest in Pamplona, Spain,
where she reached the semi-final and in 2005 she participated
in the Klaudia
Taev Opera Singers Competition in Pärnu,
where she was elected among the 6 finalists. She made her opera debut
in 2003 at the Estonian National Opera with the role of Juliet in
Britten’s “The Little Sweep”. Her repertoire also includes
Sofia (Rossini’s “Signor Bruschino”), Lucy (Menotti’s
“Telephone”), Queen of the Night (Mozart’s “The Magic
Flute”), Amina (Bellini’s “La Sonnambula”), Adina
(Donizetti’s “The Elixir of Love”), Adele (Strauss’ “Die
Fledermaus”), Elvira (Rossini’s “L’italiana in Algeri”),
Clorinda (Rossini’s “La Cenerentola”), Roxane (Tamberg’s
“Cyrano de Bergerac”), Frasquita (Bizet’s “Carmen”),
Clarice (Haydn’s “Life on the Moon”), Pepi (Strauss’ “Wiener
Blut”), Jemmy (Rossini’s “Wilhelm Tell”), Oscar (Verdi’s
“Un ballo in maschera”), Ninetta (Prokofiev’s “The Love for
Three Oranges”), Flower Girl (Wagner’s “Parsifal”), Susanna (Mozart "Le nozze di Figaro") Christel (Zeller "The Bird Seller"). In
2007–2013 she was a soloist of the Estonian National Opera. Since
2013 she is a freelance opera singer.
As
a soloist of grand form presentations she has sung the soprano parts
in Mozart’s Mass in G minor, Shubert’s Mass in G, Orff's “Carmina
Burana”, Urmas Sisask’s “MASS No. 2”, Rutter’s “Gloria”,
Webber’s “Requiem”. She has given several solo concerts and
performed with various opera programs. She has cooperated with many
Estonian musicians, including Helin-Mari Arder and Jakko Maltis. In
2015 and 2016 she held a series of concert with a varied and
interesting programme.
Angelika
Mikk has performed in Bulgaria, Finland, Latvia, Poland, Germany and cooperated
with conductors like Vello Pähn, Eri Klas, Zhorzh Dimitrov, Arvo Volmer, Ari Angervo, Andris
Veismanis, Risto Joost, Tõnu Kaljuste, Anu Tali, Wojciech
Michniewski, Paul Mägi, Kiyotaka Teraoka and many others.
Angelika
Mikk has playd also in several popular Estonian TV series, such as
“Padjaklubi”, “Kättemaksukontor”, “Tupiktänava mehed”
and “Pilvede all”.
